The study of the morphological evolution of the territory can be very helpful for the evaluation of the geological hazards caused by hydrogeological instability phenomena. The Applied Geomorphology laboratory staff consists of geomorphologists, geologist and experts in photointerpretation able to face issues within the fields of landslides stability, slope movements monitoring, geomorphologic cartography and environmental risk assessment. The group has carried out several researches for slope instability remediation and for the hazard assessment during the preliminary stages of major infrastructures projects.
