Bright 2024 – September 27th, 2024
For this year as well, the annual science event promoted by universities and research institutions is back!
The Center for GeoTechnologies of the University of Siena, for the 2023 edition of Bright-Night – The European Night of Researchers, is organizing an event in San Giovanni Valdarno (AR) titled “Beyond Borders: Technologies that Unite,” with the sponsorship of the Municipality of San Giovanni Valdarno and the Fondazione Masaccio.
The event will take place on September 27, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM in Masaccio and Cavour Squares (historic center) of San Giovanni Valdarno (AR).
The event will feature demonstrations and interactive activities for children and teenagers, aimed at showcasing technologies that transcend physical and cultural boundaries, connecting people and places. Throughout the day, stations will be set up with playful and demonstrative activities, engaging young people with advanced technologies that foster global connection and understanding, promoting the idea of a more united world. Local secondary schools (Marconi Comprehensive School, Giovanni da San Giovanni High School, Benedetto Varchi Higher Education Institute of Montevarchi) and companies related to the event’s theme will also participate in the demonstrations. The National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) will join the initiative, contributing with specialized demonstrations and valuable educational content.
The morning will be dedicated to students from the participating schools by reservation, while the afternoon will be open to the public, allowing anyone of any age to explore the stands, ask questions, and take part in the demonstrations!
