Bright 2025 – September 26th, 2025
For this year as well, the annual science event promoted by universities and research institutions is back!
The Center for GeoTechnologies of the University of Siena, for the 2025 edition of Bright-Night – The European Night of Researchers, is organizing an event in San Giovanni Valdarno (AR) titled “Caring. Seeds of Knowledge, Roots in the Territory”, with the sponsorship of the Municipality of San Giovanni Valdarno and Fondazione Masaccio.
The event will take place on September 26th, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM in Masaccio and Cavour Squares (historic center) of San Giovanni Valdarno (AR).
The program will feature demonstrations and interactive workshops designed for children and young people, with the aim of stimulating curiosity, promoting respect for the environment, and enhancing the bond between knowledge and community.
The activities – both playful and demonstrative – will be organized in thematic stations encouraging direct engagement with advanced technologies and scientific tools, offering an inclusive, dynamic, and accessible educational experience. The day aims to sow seeds of knowledge that can nurture paths of human, cultural, and professional growth, while at the same time strengthening roots in the territory thanks to collaboration among universities, schools, and local institutions.
As every year, students from local lower and upper secondary schools (IC Marconi, IC Masaccio, IC Dante Alighieri, Licei Giovanni da San Giovanni, IIS Benedetto Varchi, ISIS Valdarno, ISIS Vasari) will take part, together with the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), which will enrich the initiative with scientific content and high-value educational demonstrations.
