GTARC Master’s Programme 2026/2027: Enrolment Call Published
Enrolment is now open for the University of Siena’s second-level Master’s degree programme. Applications must be submitted by 15 December 2026
The University of Siena has published the call for enrolment in the second-level Master’s postgraduate degree programme in Geotechnologies for Archaeology (GTARC) for the 2026/2027 academic year.
The programme is organised by the Department of History and Cultural Heritage and is delivered at the Centre for GeoTechnologies in San Giovanni Valdarno. It trains professionals to combine archaeological expertise with advanced technologies for the investigation, documentation and management of archaeological heritage.
Programme content
The curriculum covers, among other subjects, GIS and cartography, remote sensing, photogrammetry, LiDAR, 3D modelling, geophysical prospection and preventive archaeology. From this edition, the programme also includes artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques applied to geospatial data.
Delivery mode
Teaching will be delivered in blended mode from January 2027 to January 2028. The programme also includes a 300-hour curricular internship with public bodies, companies, professional firms or research institutes.
Enrolment
Applicants must hold a Master’s degree, a second-cycle degree under the previous Italian degree system, or an equivalent foreign qualification.

Enrolment must be completed exclusively online through the University of Siena’s Online Student Services portal Segreteria online. From the “Segreteria” menu, select “Immatricolazione” and complete the procedure by the stated deadline.
