Who can apply

The Professional Development Course in “Geotechnical Engineering Design” is aimed at first- and second-cycle degree graduates who wish to further develop their skills in the sector.

Admission is reserved for applicants holding an italian university degree (Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, or equivalent qualifications under the old academic system) in the following broad subject areas (for further details, please refer to the CAP information sheet):

  • Architecture, construction, and spatial planning
  • Civil engineering, infrastructure, and environmental and territorial engineering
  • Environment, agriculture, forestry, and geosciences
  • Physics, mechanical engineering, and materials engineering
  • Natural sciences and biological-environmental systems

Graduates from foreign universities, both EU and non-EU, are also eligible, provided their qualification is deemed equivalent to the required Italian degrees by the Master’s Academic Board.

Aims

The aim of the Course is to provide advanced training in the theoretical and applied aspects of geotechnical design, with a focus on foundations, retaining structures, slope stability, and seismic actions.

Designed for professionals and technical practitioners, the programme combines lectures and practical exercises to ensure immediately applicable skills in design and engineering practice.
