On Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at 11:00 AM, the βCHINESE CALLIGRAPHY WORKSHOPβ will take place at the Center for GeoTechnologies of the University of Siena in San Giovanni Valdarno (AR). This event is free and open to all interested!

During the theoretical and practical workshop, participants will explore the historical and artistic aspects related to the origin of writing and calligraphy in China. Additionally, attendees will learn to use ink, brushes, and paper to create simple Chinese characters. This informative event is open even to those who do not speak Chinese.
The event is organized and conducted by Prof. Ornella De Nigris, Professor of Chinese Language and Translation at the University of Siena in the Arezzo campus, along with Professors Qin Ying and Xu Zheng from Wenzhou University, a Chinese institution that has maintained ties with the University of Siena for years as part of the βConfucius Classroomβ project.
